Spinners work okay for me in certain winter situations.

I've got them to eat #4 and #5 vibraxes in slow brushy holes under less than optimum vis. It is a good way to probe brush.

There was one spot where the deep slot was next to an eddy. I could not get the spoon to work on the edge, so I would cast the spinner all the way across the eddy, let it sink, then pull it into the current. That got some fish.
