Eickmeyer is "into" this salmon recovery thing and he sits on the Agricultural and Resources Committee. He might be willing to take a stand for selective fishing, since he says he isn't going to run again. The commercial fishers may not have much influence and he may care about his legislative legacy. He said he will continue to work on the Hood Canal and salmon recovery when he leaves office.

We already have a new Chair on that same committee that will likely be more conservation minded.

AuntyM, Agree I do; so another message will be in the works in light of the words from the Commission Chairman that we need to backup our public testimony with a follow through with the legislators. Perhaps I'll even try to bend his ear in Olympia now that the legislative session is about to start.
