i've now seen this story on stolen kegs twice now. northwest brewing news and newsweek. thieves are now steeling empty keg for the scrap $$$. those of you who purchase kegs know of keg deposits right?... heres some numbers for you. for a brewery to purchase a keg runs about 90$ to 110$ hence the deposit. an estimated 300.000 kegs have been stolen nation wide. this is about 50 million$ annually! so this WILL be passed on to us. this just royally bites! empty kegs now must be locked up. anyways thought this might be worth sharing.
