Ned, another place to look if you looking used is http://www.archerytalk.com , they have a classifieds page that has a lot of bows. I know a couple guys that have also gotten them off Ebay. Like you I am a newby to archery, and I have been having a blast learning to shoot. A lot more involved than I thought it was bu fun and I can do it here at the house easily.

As far as add ons, all you should need is a rest and Sights and be able to go. Well a release also and arrows. I know it wasn't cheap to get into but I am glad that I did and will start building my own arrows soon enough also to save a few bucks. But I have a feeling that is like building rods, not always cheaper but fun. Best advice I have gotten on bow selections was go to a shop and shoot a few what is good for someone else may not be good for you. I went with the Guardian because it felt good to draw and also to shoot. Didn't shoot the commander but shot a mattews and a couple other bowtechs. So at least go to a shop and shoot a few of the ones your thinking about then yo ucna shop fo rthe one you like.
