Bethany Hamilton is the young woman who had her arm bitten off by a tiger shark when she was surfing in Hawaii in October 2003. She comes from a family of surfers and has been a surfer since she was quite young. I ran across this Youtube video on another site and thought her story is inspirational, especially for younger folks that sometimes think that life is hard on them. Here's a young woman still pursuing her dream of being a pro surfer inspite of the loss of her arm in a sport where balance is everything:
