No, the Permanent Fund Dividend derives from Big Oil's revenues in Alaska. Additionally, windfall profit taxes that Palin raised on those oil companies as soon as she gained office resulted in an additional $6 Billion which was shared to the tune of $1,200 for each man, woman, and child in Alaska in addition to the annual PFD. And since the PFD revenue provides over 85% of the state's operating budget, Alaskans pay no income or sales tax.

If that's not socialistic redistribution of wealth, I don't know what is. All brought to you courtesy of a Republican state government, whose govenor just happens to masquerade as the current VP running mate. Not very maveric-y if you ask me.
