There is no likely scenario that doesn't move America solidly left next Tuesday. Even if McCain can pull it out, he is very much left of Bush, and he will undoubtedly have at least six more Democrat senators and 40 plus new Democrat house members to work with.
What this all will mean to our country is anybody's guess. I know those on the far right think we will lose our guns, become communists, require mandatory abortions and take all the wealth from anyone who has a job and give it all to unemployed crack dealers. The far left thinks the new regime will bring us all a nirvana where the minimum wage is $25.00 per hour, union membership is universal, health care is fully covered for all and free K through PhD education will be available to all.
I have seen enough changes in administrations to know that neither side has a clear view of what will happen, but there is no doubt it will be left of the current regime. And roughly 75% of us believe no matter who is elected; it will be a huge improvement from the current bozo. These are indeed interesting times.
Hmmm. Dave, you and a certain other outdooor writer BM think a lot alike. I have heard him say almost the same things. Is it something in the ink you guys breathe?
I know after the last administration most said anything would be an improvement over Slick Willie. So is it downhill again? I can hardly wait. If things go as predicted the right can sit back and take potshots. Won't that be fun? Interesting to say the least!
