Not an expert on this, but my Alaskan friend, who is an attorney, says she can only appoint someone to hold the office for 90 days, then an election must be called. Of course she could appoint herself and run at the end of 90 days. But I think that might even piss off her repug friends. The current rules were put in place when a repug, Senator, Murkowski, ran for governor, got the job and appointed his daughter as his senate replacement. Alaska politics is truly ugly.

I could deal with senator Plain. We have had dumber senators but seldom better looking.I can see myself dreaming about using her hair to clean up with. That’s more use than I have for most senators.
