While I do not have the honor to be called a US Marine, I have been celebrating the Marine Corp Birthday every year for the last 15 years with my fellow US Marine friends.

I will gladly hoist a glass of 1775 Fortitude Rum Punch tonight in honor of all past, present, and future US Marines!

Happy Birthday Marines!

PS. For those that can't celebrate with us tonight, feel free to make up your own batch of 1775 Fortitude Rum Punch and have a drink for the Corps! (If you end up getting so drunk that you unknowingly enlist in the Corps, don't blame me!) wink

This traditional beverage was supposedly served to potential Marine Corps recruits at Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, during the American Revolution.

One part dark Jamaican Rum

Four parts lime juice

Maple sugar and grenadine to taste

Pour over cracked ice in a glass punch bowl
