Could be wrong but i don't think the broadcast hd channels are 1080. The signal from my digital receiver (free) goes into my tv with a "cable" connector.

If you have Verizon Fios you may have a fiber optic into your house, other wise you have regular "cable" tyoe cable.

I don't think you can push that much data through anything but an HDMI cable. RCA cables don't do it. I think 720 is the most you can get from component video in, less from s-video...

Again, I could be wrong.

Buy the 1080 regarless... smile
