I have DirecTV, not Dish. We dumped Dish about 4 years ago because they we giving new customers free recievers, but wanted to charge us $300 to upgrade. After paying that much for the first one. No thanks. Their customer service stunk too. It's all about signing you up and then ignoring you.
Been very happy with DirecTV ever since and they had no trouble offering their current customers a deal to upgrade to the High Def/DVR and get rid of TIVO and the old system. Since cable is not an option for us, we'll stay with them.
Of course, we also have Hughes.net satellite for internet and they flat out suck. Especailly when it snows.
Doesn't matter, Mr. Qwest has been working furiously to bring DSL out here and it should be available NLT 2 weeks from now.
Tom,
That is a bummer. It should be a great game.
Aunty,
What you experieced with Dish sound a lot like what like the monopoly Nickels has granted Comcast in Seattle. All the discounts and special offers go to the new customers. Screw the folks that have been your customers for years. The only thing current customers are good for is the opportunity for them to annual increase in monthly fees. increases. My neighbors new customer one year special bundle package (phone, internet, cable) just increase from $117.00 to over $150.00 per month.
It's Comcastic, now bend over.
