That fish was 60" long, it was caught on July 6 upriver a ways (obviously). I believe the official weight was 88+ pounds many hours after it was caught. It was caught in a pretty random spot that is not usually fished for kings, to my knowledge a king hasn't been caught there since.
I have actually fished that guy for silvers and sockeyes within the past couple years. I don't remember the exact year but I believe that fish was caught in '94 or '95.
If that fish would have been caught in the tidewater I have no doubt it would have been over 100.
I have some info on the mount of that fish as well, if anyone has seen "big Gus" at Steward's landing that is this fish, with its belly "blown up" as if it was fresh from the ocean. There is also a great skin mount of the fish that is with the guide who caught, at one time it was on dispay at Mountain View Sports in Anchorage. I know the taxidermist well, he is very protective of that mold and will ask the lodge it was caught at for permission to mold it up for others, such as sporting goods stores who want one for display. There is one on display at B&J Commercial in Anchorage.

Hope that helps Doc!
