The solution to deficit is simple. Don't spend until you have the money.

The second and third responsible things to do is to cut, cut, cut gov't from all levels and say, "NO!" to every special interest group(s) who demand financial support, at least until the people vote to support it/them and then only as long as absolutely necessary and not until money is set aside (as in saved) for that specific purpose.

I know it is a new concept, but "doing without" is a responsibility. NOT "doing without" is the reason we are in this mess in the first place.
