The 1143 is a nice rod... I build one for myself every year. 9'6" is just a tad long for our smaller rivers down here on the south coast or OR. The 1084 is what I choose to fish on our smaller rivers... as my #1 rod of choice. But I also like the 1024, 1025, 1082, 1141.... I like them all

The 1143 fishes bigger than it really is.. but it is a great rod.
