I found some sea-run cutts in a South Puget Sound inlet Wednesday night --even through the tide was kind of soupy. I like big tide drops and rises. I think strong tidal currents are good, as they flush food around and gets the fish eating.

Despite my doubts on the way to the water, sea-run cutthroat and rezzie coho were chasing chum salmon fry, and one of Bob Triggs' Chum Baby flies fooled a few fish. I think cutts in Puget Sound are a great option for anglers who aren't hitting the road -- or who are driving to Puget Sound -- during Memorial Day weekend.
