Here's my take... A black floor gets too hot in the summer, wood floors rott out, vinyl floors tear and diamond plate floors are indestructable....

If anything, you can put carpet over the diamond plate and it will last a few years but if you're putting a lot of fish in the boat it starts smelling bad quickly. I tore mine out and went back to the diamond plate....
