As I said above, those folks all serve at the President's pleasure, and though they can't be fired for political reasons, they can be fired for most anything else, including "lack of confidence" in them by their boss...and when the attorney in Walpin's very own organization says he's going too far, and the AG in charge says he's going to far and can't back up his allegations, it starts to look more like Walpin's the one going after someone for political reasons...and that will get you fired.
