You reels will work fine. Just rinse the heck out of them.
As far a tips, this is what I like.
Rio Outbound Short or Airflo 40+ for lines.
Rods- 9 to 9.6 6 wt rod.
Flies - clousers, shock & awes and poppers.
Fish beaches with points that create tide rips.
