Here's a link to the "clips" I mentioned. There are other manufactuers, but they all work the basically the same. You run your leader up through the "clip". I run the upper hook right at the clip and let the back hook dangle (Kind of like FnP's set-up) just past the end of the bait.

You can run "spinners/strips" or you can put the nose of a whole herring/anchovie in the clip, too.

I agree with Captn DR suggestion to purchase larger size bait. You get more baits per dollar.
