ls, Rvrfshr spinners come with a pre-installed swivel, so no need for a snap swivel.

The technique you are describing is excellent for summer runs, and works pretty well for winter runs, too...for coho, and other salmon, too, for that matter...I think it works better to either cast it into froggy water and retrieve it, or to toss it across and down slower moving water and let it swing, hopefully so it will be moving quite a bit slower than an upstream/reel down presentation.
