Actually, you can, but legally by the bylaws of ebay (unless they've changed) you have to go to EACH bidder and ask if they'll relinquish their bid. If one doesn't, you have to keep the auction going (unless you have a good reason). Been doing ebay since day one. If you don't have a legitimate reason and you get called on it by a bidder, you will have to keep listing or sell to them at their price.

Also, hate to say, most guys were being cheap, even lowballing the price. I made over $200 on the auction (on most guys either wanted to pay under $150 or made promises about picking them up, but not following through). I got tired of the "promises" and had these babies cheap for a quick sale. Once I had to borrow $$, I had time to sell on ebay. I would never let an auction go short, unless a bidder made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Fishing gear draws top $$$ on ebay.
