Here's the update.
Local shops are arrogant experts until you present them with an item with some historical value.
One shop in the area was able to give me a value and really want to buy it for that value.
Ben's Loans in Renton is awesome.
They have EVERYTHING in there, it's very fairly priced and the guys behind the counter don't have attitude.
One of the guys happens to collect the particular gun I brought in. He said market value is $600-650 and offered me $450.
I ended up trading him for a new Tikka .300WSM and he set me up with ammo and case. I owed a little cash on the deal.
I bought a Burris Fullfield II scope on Ebay and will set that up.
Anybody have a boresighter that I can borrow?
I later found out Ben's sells the most guns in the state.
I would not hesistate to do more business there or refer my friends.
