For the rest of the country, this game is pretty meaningless. For college football fans living in Washington, it is all about bragging rights. If you can't get excited about the Apple Cup, even if the teams are bad, then you are not a true UW/WSU football fan. It is one way a bad team can at least go out on a winning note. Unfortunately, this has been more common for both teams the past few years.

The mere fact that Cougar fans want points is a dead give-away that UW has dominated the Apple Cup since the beginning by winning more than twice as many games as the Cougars. WSU fans want and expect points because of how poorly they have done historically against the Huskies.

I root for the Cougars to win...except when they are playing the Huskies. Having followed them since Warren Moon was the quarterback in the 70s and having graduated from there, I have earned that privilege.

Most will agree that UW is the better team this year but this is the Apple Cup and anything can happen...like the better team losing.

But I wouldn't bet on it...without points. rofl
