In case the guy just wants some good, sound advice regarding boater's safety w/o a bash over the head:

Always anchor straight of the bow, no matter what the current.

Keep a knife handy to sever the bowline incase it becomes fouled and puts you at risk of foundering (ie: a submerged log rolls into your anchorline and starts to drag your azz down to Davy Jones' Locker).

Use the proper anchor for the right occasion. (Dont try to use a pyramid anchor on The CR or use a danforth anchor on the Cowlitz.)

Anyhoo--do your homework, and in any given fishing setting, bug the old timers!
