As is often the case, as it gets more and more rainy out, my friends are killing phones at a rate something like one per day...mine died yesterday.

Thankfully the SIM card was OK, so I didn't lose my numbers...who the hell actually remembers more than a phone number or two anymore?

So...since I use AT&T, I went to the AT&T Mobile Backup website, and for $1.99 per month my phone will now automatically send all the contact info in it to their database, as often as I like (I have it set to do it once per week on Monday mornings at 2am).

If I lose my phone, trash my SIM, whatever...log into the website, hit a button, and it all gets uploaded back into my phone in about a minute.

Even if I never have to use it, the piece of mind is worth $1.99 a month.

I'm pretty sure services like that are available for most all major carriers.

Fish on...

Todd
