I was in the procession yesterday and then attended the service. I cannot tell you how touching it was to see all those people lined up in the cold to wave or hold up a sign expressing either grief or support for what we do.

At one point we were stopped for a brief time somewhere on S. Tacoma Way when a boy about eight and his mother approached my patrol car. The mother told me that he wanted to give one of us a flag to take to the service. The little boy then said "Tell them that I'm sorry."

I put the little flag on my radar mount. It will be there for a while.

Thanks to all of you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in law enforcement.
