Man, this sequence of events sure takes the luster off the holiday season. It's getting harder to "be of good cheer" when basic tenets of civilization begin unraveling like this. I hope the deputy and sargent recover and am glad they made the bad guy's trial a short one, while making the world a slightly better place.
