Scope-YES, better than iron on anything. However, spring guns cause more havoc than a .270 on a scope. A powder rifle just throws the gun backwards when it kicks. A spring gun slams the scope forward, then backwards, and breaks more scopes (crosshairs). I'd say check warranty info on the scope. Many are airgun rated for heavy springers. I have a Weaver V-16 on my RWS/Diana 54, and had older Leupolds on it beofre that.
