My lil brother is a deputy sheriff.
They must sign off on every dead body found in the county.
He got a call one afternoon after neighbors reported concern over an elderly neighbor that had gone unseen for two weeks.
This was in the hundred degree heat of summer mind you.
He arrives at missing neighbor's front door only to notice huge swarms of flies caked around the windows and doors.
Rut Roh.
He turns the doorknob that was unlocked and even though he has a handkerchief covering his nose and mouth, he is overwhelmed with a thick heavy stench.

He looks through the doorway into the kitchen and there he is.....
A bloated, half melted carcass writhing with the undulation of millions of maggots.
He looks down and realizes he is standing in a sea of maggots and that was it.
He races out of the house gagging and gasping for air.
Absolutely disgusting.

I can't imagine this discovery being much more enjoyable.
