Yeah, I thought about doing that with my 1st pair, but then they fell off my face when struck by some errant fly line, and now lie beneath a huge boulder in the Bogachiel River that I named Maui Jim Rock. Second pair was in my rucksack in my car when it got smash and grabbed in Feb. Thanks to insurance, I'm on my 3rd pair, and hopefully the lens won't be scratched for a good long time.
