Interesting that the Mitchell 300 comes up here. Last week I stopped by Collier SP in SE Oregon on way to visit relatives in northern California.

I walked over to view the Williamson River just below where Spring Creek enters.

It was there in 1957 that I first saw a Michtell 300 where a high school acquaintance was tossing a nightcrawler to the far bank, an amazing feet when most of use were using steel telescopic rods and automatic fly reels for our trouting adventures.

I bought two 300's and two Ambassaduer 5000 (green direct drive level winds) at Ed's Surplus back in the 60's for $22 per. I still fish the 5000's but the Mitchells are long gone.

Those Mitchells were the best until I went to DAM Quicks, which are now a memory like the Mitchells.
