Sorry for the gross generalization. I didn't mean an unqualified standard. If an employer is given documentation that appears real, then he's off the hook so long as he tries to ascertain an alien worker's legitimacy and isn't knowingly employing an illegal. It's the old style innocent until proven guilty and burden of proof concept. It still remains difficult for the gov't. to determine though, when illegals have documents that seem legit, but nothing's going to be perfect. Unless of course we simply annex Mexico, making it the 51 st state; then any Mexican who wants to work here would be legal. Still would be problematic with illegals from Central and South America and other countries.
