i just saw a scientific angler 8/9wt fly rod (the grey one from the system 1 combo) on sale for just under 40 bucks. it was on the sierra trading post site. i once had the 5wt version and it was a very decent rod. of course, the 8/9 comes with a fighting butt. good luck.
