Milton Friedman He is a good read GH and a free market guy but he got my attention on how we screwed up free markets and he hit at both R & D. My favorite bit was you have big corporations because you have big government as small business is far more productive but as we have a big government it will drive industry to big corporations, which are less productive. Another is a company that has militant labor unions due of the way it treats its employees, treat them right they are not militant but rather an asset. ( verbiage off a bit but close )

I once read the US economy and citizens succeed despite the government and two parties NOT because of them. More true than I like to believe I think. We can argue whatever as citizens but until we break free of the two party system little will change.
