Made my now annual trek to Goldendale and it really was flat this year. The deer just were not anywhere to be seen. The landowners said that a couple days before they just seemed to vanish. And, they used the fields differently when the were there. May have been the huge full moon.

But, there were turkeys galore. While sitting by a small pasture I had 18 feed through; they were 15-30 yds off. Mostly hens but some jakes in there. Next moring saw a flock over 30 and another of about 10. Topped the morning off by seeing two toms with beards 6-8" long amble through the garden.

Since the bow season is now over down there I will need to look elsewhere for venison.

And, since the owners like the turkeys, there's no hunting them.
