I still think there is some weirdness going on in the mortgage business. My mortgage is with Wells Fargo and I got a call a couple of months ago from them. They wanted to know if I wanted to re-fi my mortgage from 5.99% to 5% without any out of pocket.They then proceeded to tell me that they wouldn't have to verify income, no pay stub, no tax returns-- just my verbal over the phone. They never even called my job to verify that I worked there.
