Been working in west seattle for the last 2 months on a kitchen remodel and watching the "natives" gillnetting the river every which way but loose. I know they are "entitled" to these fish(kings, coho and now chums) but give me a break!!! Both sides of the container docks, Net on floats in the middle, nets tied off old cannery pilings and even saw a couple casting buzz bombs waiting for their nets to fill!! Now they want to seine the bay too! Wow, if Puget Sound isn't a barren waste land now, it won't survive much longer. The state of wash. and the wdfw shame on you and shame on Christine Gregoire for ignoring our and I repeat all of our resources. What little glimmer of hope this years chinook run gave us will soon fade away. It's now only a matter of time. We need to stand up now and protest this decimation of our resources and quit being a bunch of namby pamby bitchers.
