Chad:

I have fished the Elwa a couple of times. I parked the car at Whiskey Bend, basically, the end of the road. Put the sandals on, threw the waders and boats over my shoulders and headed up the trail. The trail pretty much follows the river, at some places close at others not so close. I went through an old forest fire burn and continued until the trail dropped down closer to the river, by some old, small buildings. This is where I fished. I used my standard floaters - elk hair caddis, stimulators and my standard olive WB with black maribou tail. There are reports of some very nice fish. I have caught some decent size and lost bigger ones. Be advised that the water is very clear and you need to use some stealth. I have not been up above the area I described but there is a bridge over the river in this area leading up to the higher country.
