I kinda agree with Carl except the shallows will be best toward the end of the day if there is any sunlight.If you see them breakin heed the sign. But definately go deep if not. 20-30 foot is a good place to start. Buy a temp gauge and target the thermoclines($5). I hate powerbait, no real reason just that it doesn't really imitate anything real, so i consider it cheating LOL. So i usually fish with a small light yellow or pink/red corkie or swimmer corkie(big enough to float the worm, Spin-n-glos work also but not nearly as well as a single corkie) a #8 hook with a half worm on a 4 foot leader. Then drag it,slow troll, or wind drift it with enough weight to keep bouncing off the bottom. Works awesome and rarely snags.
