I think it came down to the fact that with the Traveler, you have to adjust two screws every time you put the fly in and take the fly out whereas the Regal, all you do it clasp the lever once each time and your done. I put a lot of tension on my thread (often using GSP or kevlar) and the hook would often slide down while in the middle of tying the fly causing some frustration on my part. I used a friend's Regal and didn't have that problem. Unless your heavy handed, the Traveler would probably be fine but after using one for about 10 years, I decided to move on. A guy posted a WTB Traveler on another site and he offered a more than fair price...done deal.
