Thanks, Dudes! There's a lot of great advice in here; maybe too much, as now, I can't decide what the hell I should do.
I was ruling out Baker and Whistler, only because they are so far away, but I do appreciate quality skiing, and I am told they are head and shoulders above anything else in Washington. Who knows?
So what makes White Pass a joke? Certainly, their website is the least flashy, but I doubt that's much of an indication. That is the closest to where I live, and it looks like there are actually one or two places to stay that still have room, so I am hoping someone can tell me it's actually decent. As for the terrain, lots of blue runs is right up my alley, as an easy-paced, cruising style is what I enjoy most. I suppose I still have the skills to take on the hard stuff, but I don't enjoy that as much, so no worries if the advanced terrain is lacking.
I have heard that Crystal is the local standard, and it looks pretty good, but as Irie mentioned, it has all the markings of a bonafide tourist trap (see lift ticket prices 50% higher than any other mountain in the state and additional fees to ride the gondola). Its relative proximity to Tacoma and Seattle also points to crowded conditions, which are definitely something I like to avoid.
I'm starting to look at BC more and more.... Ugh.
