For me it's been a work horse of a reel. The Drag system's smooth, reliable, and very pleasing to the ear. Water's the only lubricate required. The Gunnison's weren't the lightest reel of it's day, but for the medium price range of $200.00 it was hard to beat.

Bought one off of eBay years ago, that the seller stated was used & abused from guiding. Debated on whether to take a chance on it. I received the reel and it was as advertised. It's been my primary reel for the last 4 years and it's performed flawlessly. And I don't have to worry about scratching it either.
