I thought that gloves while rowing were for girlie boys until I floated with a respected, efficient , nice, well known, un named guide and saw him use them to keep his hands from being chewed up from grit in the anchor rope. He used a leather full finger glove.

The gloves I found would either soak up water or slide around. When I was prepping for this years trip on the rogue I found these at REI and am very happy. I will buy them again. They are warm enough, handle water, and fit well enough to row without actually noticing them. Your mileage may vary but they are a good product.
