One of my friends was at the house a year or so ago, and asked if tehre was any legislation that I would like to be brought up. he's a rep her on the coast.

I told him about the fact that suppressors (silencers) were legal to own in Washington, but that through some sort of misguided reasoning, their use was not legal. I said it would be nice to be able to not only own, but to be able to use them as well. Currently owners of them need to travel to Oregon or Idaho to use them.

Brian ran the bill through the house, and it sailed through pretty easily, getting a vote of 88 to 4 to pass it. The companion bill was run through the senate, and after seeing the results in the house, it passed the senate judiciary today. Looks like it will head to the floor for a vote in the near future. This will mean that 90 days after eth session ends, firing ranges will get quieter. At least some will. wink

Brian is also running bills for cougar hunting with hounds, plus various trapping bills that will once again allow folks to trap moles with pincer traps, legally.
