Love March Maddness -
Given the so-called weakness of western basketball I agree surprising to see 4 Pac-10 teams in the "dance".
That said as a group they have recieved some favorable draws and I expect them to do well (much better than their seeds would indicate). I expect the 4 to get at least 6 wins and would not be all that surprised to see 8 or more. Throw in Gonzaga and SDU the western will be well represented in the sweet sixteen.
As far as the Huskies decent matchups but a tough location. I agree with the others Georgia is a favorable match up and if the Huskies have their head in the game that should be a win. If they make it pass that first game they will likely be a handful for North Carolina.
As we know the Dawgs don't do well in front of hostile crowds but on the flip side they are a very difficult team to prepare for with a short turn around. Have not seen any teams with a deeper more athletic roster than UW. Couple that with an reasonably experienced team that is as prepared as any of Romar's team - can play a reasonable zone to go with their tough man to man and for the first time they seem willing to apply that full court pressure more frequently. Lots of looks to prepare for and at least a half dozen guys that go off for big nights.
Like the Huskies chances to make the sweet sixteen and if they get on that roll (especially after the Pac-10 tournament) they will be a scary matchup for nearly anyone.
