I am a simpleton regarding this stuff. For a lot of us fishing is sort of a selfish activity, and so I try to maintain that my emphasis is having fun and relaxing.

I would rather spend a lazy afternoon screwing around on a pond with my kids, than catching a 20# steelhead. So my bucket list is simple:

Choose appropriate conditions and locales so that my kids get to go on successful fishing trips, and have a good time. The most important thing to me is showing them that you can have fun doing simple pure activities, and you don't need anything electronic to entertain you (except maybe a trolling motor).
