The entire point of Superman has to make a political statement, as soon as he went from a vigilante (first incarnation) into a crime fighter (current and very, very longstanding).

"Truth, Justice, and the American Way"...can't get much more political than that...

I don't think that the problem is that Superman is political all of a sudden...he's just not unconditionally pro-American any more.

Not that it matters...he is, as Salmo pointed out, a fictional character. Getting too fired up about it is like Muslims getting fired up of caricatures of Mohammed...you know that neither are real, right? smile
