Us flyfishermen are supposed to know about all types and styles of fishing.

One of the other boards mentioned putting a small Dick Nite on a fly rod.... well, back in the old days (remember those Old Man) small Colorado spinners and small spinner fly combos were regularly fished via a fly rod. My dad taught me a fly rod rigged with a floating line was a real good way of fishing worms for trout. Fishing a string (or "cast" as it's more properly called) of wet flies is very similar to worm fishing.

One thing I think I'll do this next year is use more wet flies in lakes. I have a wet fly pattern that simulates a sunken callibaetis spinner real good. Used it up on the stream that runs between the Twin Lakes on Jim Creek naval station to catch cutts. Also used it on rainbows over at Chopaka early in the morning. First light the trout are cruising the lake taking dead spinners..... some of them sink.

Also, I still have some of those old spinner/fly combos.
