today, Captain Jim (aka the troutfisherman) took me fishing on lake roosevelt. we launched at 'crescent bay', a national park service ramp located right at the south end of grand coulee dam.

as you can see in the photo, the concrete launch facility includes a floating dock. and there is a large parking area with an outhouse.

we trolled up and down both shorelines, and across the lake along the 'log boom' that keeps boats away from the dam. Capt. Jim mostly fished off of a downrigger, and i trolled both shallow and deeper. no fish. by the way, the deepest spot we noted on the electronics was 400 feet.

on the south side near the dam is a small bank fishing area, and we noted a fisherman appearing to be gutting a fish or two along the shore. on the north side, on the indian reservation where you are required to have a permit, there is a much larger bank fishing area, and 3 to 5 fishermen were working it. one reported "catching five" earlier in the morning.

over time, 3 or 4 other boat fishermen were noted, moving around from area to area.

it was disappointing to not catch fish on such a pleasant day.
