Peter, while Scotty makes a quality product, I've used Scotty, Penn and cannon manuals and by far the vertical cranking on the penns and cannons are more efficient design. Cranking up a 12# ball withthe horizontal wheel is a pita! Someone was selling a Penn 625 on here. You should consider it.
